Risk Disclaimer

Last updated 2 August 2026

TradeVault does not give financial advice. It is a record-keeping and analytics tool. Nothing it shows you, and nothing its AI features write, is investment advice, a recommendation, or an invitation to buy or sell anything. Trading carries a substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. You can lose more than your initial deposit on leveraged products.

1. What we are, and what we are not

TradeVault is a trading journal. We are not a broker, dealer, exchange, investment adviser, financial adviser, fund manager, or signal service. We are not registered with, authorised by, or supervised by any financial regulator, because we do not carry out any regulated activity. We do not hold client money, we do not execute or route orders, and we have no connection to your broker.

Everything in the product is a reflection of data you entered, presented back to you. Deciding what to do with it is entirely yours.

2. Nothing here is a recommendation

Statistics, charts, scores, insights, summaries, coaching text, alerts, and any other output are provided for information and self-review only. They are not tailored to your financial situation, objectives, risk tolerance, or tax position, and they should not be treated as a personal recommendation. If you want advice about whether trading is appropriate for you, speak to a professional who is licensed to give it in your country.

3. AI features can be wrong

TradeVault uses large language models to comment on your trades, read chart images, and summarise sessions. This technology is genuinely useful for reflection and genuinely unreliable as a source of truth. It can:

  • Misread a chart, a price level, or a number.
  • State something confidently that is simply false.
  • Miss context that would change the conclusion entirely.
  • Give different answers to the same question.

Treat AI output as a prompt to think, never as a verdict, and never as a reason to enter or exit a position. Check anything that matters against your own records and your broker's.

4. Past performance means nothing about the future

Any historical result shown in TradeVault — yours or anyone else's — is not indicative of future results. A good month is not an edge. Hypothetical, simulated and back-tested results have inherent limitations: they benefit from hindsight, and they do not account for slippage, fees, liquidity, or the psychological reality of having money on the line.

5. Leaderboards are self-reported

Rankings are calculated from figures users typed into their own journals. We do not audit them, and we do not check them against broker or exchange statements. Nobody's position on a leaderboard is evidence that they are profitable, skilled, or worth copying. Do not send anyone money on the strength of a ranking, a badge, or a screenshot.

6. Other users are not your adviser

Community posts, replies and direct messages come from other users. They are not vetted, endorsed, or verified by us. Be especially careful with anyone who contacts you offering signals, managed accounts, mentorship for a fee, or “guaranteed” returns — that pattern is overwhelmingly a scam, and it is against our Terms of Service. Please report it.

7. Market data may be inaccurate or delayed

Prices, candles and economic calendar entries come from third-party sources. They may be delayed, incomplete, revised, or wrong, and they are provided for illustration inside your journal — not for trading decisions and not as an official record. Your broker's data is the authoritative one.

8. Prop-firm features are a convenience only

We are not affiliated with any proprietary trading firm. Drawdown figures, targets, progress bars and payout tracking in TradeVault are our best interpretation of numbers you entered, and they can differ from your firm's own calculation. Always treat your firm's dashboard as the source of truth for whether a rule has been breached or an objective met. We are not responsible for a failed evaluation.

9. Your decisions are yours

You are solely responsible for your trading decisions and their consequences. To the fullest extent permitted by law, TradeVault accepts no liability for trading losses or lost profits arising from use of the product, including where a decision was influenced by something the product displayed or generated. See section 12 of the Terms of Service.

10. If trading is hurting you

Chasing losses, trading money you cannot afford to lose, hiding it from people close to you, or being unable to stop are all signs of a problem, and they are more common in this industry than anyone admits. Free, confidential help exists — in the UK, GamCare (0808 8020 133) and the National Gambling Helpline; elsewhere, your national equivalent. Stepping away is a legitimate use of a journal.
